3 Top Tips to being a successful Art Affiliate

Becoming an art affiliate is simple.  A little more thought is required if you want to be successful at it. So today I’ll be sharing my top 3 tips for you to do just that.

Being an affiliate to any company, brand or service simply means that you can promote people’s products and get paid for it.  That is if they buy something using your special link of course.

Registering as an affiliate for us here at Sarah Bowden ART means that you can earn a whopping 10% of the sale if it goes through your account.  It increases to 15% if you are an existing or previous customer or collector of ours.  AND you can register to the program for FREE (see link at end of blog)

Pretty cool eh?  A way to earn some extra cash without doing a huge amount of work.  However, you do have to take some action in order to receive the benefits.

Here are 3 of my top tips to become a successful art affiliate.

1. Get clear on how much you want to earn as an art affiliate

When registering to become an art affiliate of Sarah Bowden ART, it’s a good idea to think about how much you want to earn from this adventure.

Perhaps you’d like an extra £50 per month so you can pop this into your holiday fund.

Or maybe £30 a month would be just brilliant so you can buy those shoes you’ve been eyeing up!

Whatever you decide, determines what you could share with people you know.

For example, £50 a month could be achieved by sharing an A3 limited edition print to 6 people.  Or it could be achieved by sharing one of my original paintings that is £500.  Or sharing my affirmation card packs to 20 people.

Of course, sharing my art will not simply bring you in the cash (more on this later)

But you get the idea.  The more you find clarity on what extra money would satisfy you and get to know the prices of my work, the more focused you become.

2. Make a list of people you could share to

Who in your world, do you know who is positive, enthusiastic, open-hearted?

Do you know someone who loves art or something a bit different?

Who loves colour and adventure?  Maybe you know someone who is on a spiritual journey and is interested in self-care. Who do you know who loves owls, crows, angels or birds in general?

When writing your list, think about these questions. They don’t need to be all of those things by the way! Just one thing is enough!

Most importantly, don’t focus on who has the money.  Let that be the decision of the person you talk to.

We never truly know what other people’s finances are like.  One man’s broke is definitely another man’s wealth!

Don’t presume for one minute that people you know won’t pay for something that fills their hearts with magic and joy.  People do.

3. Share with enthusiasm

The main thing is to share my artwork  with enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is infectious!

This is easier if you have my artwork already in your home.  Often the conversation will start with a comment about the art.

If you haven’t, don’t let that put you off! You know I have a website – you wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t!  So get your mobile out and share with delight!

You have your own voice…but here are a few conversation starters to try out:

Oo I’ve found this really cool artist I think you’d like…

Oh you must take a look at this artist’s work – you’re gonna love her!

I’m so in love with this artist’s work right now. Her work is just so…/makes me feel…  Let me show you!

Keep the conversation going.  Let your friend explore and comment. Suggest that they join my mailing list – that’s the best way to connect. If they do, let me know and I’ll send you a reward!  This is sharing, not selling!

However, don’t be afraid to disclose you are one of my affiliates. In fact, it’s always best to be up front. And your friends and family will want to support you anyway!  They might even like to register to the program too.

The important thing is to explain if they ever want to purchase ask them to let you know and you’ll give them your special link.
