This whimsical and character-ful sun bear painting is called Bear Necessities. This is of course a nod to The Jungle Book one of our family’s favourite movies.

Baloo from The Jungle Book is actually based on a sloth bear, but I feel my painting retains the essence of Baloo – his laid back approach to life, his humour and how he fiercely protects Mowgli.

So the wisdom of the sun bear is to go with the flow, find ease in your daily life, focusing on what really matters and cutting out all the crap.

To find humour when life is challenging and know you have the strength to protect yourself and your loved ones when life throws you a curve ball.

This  painting would make the perfect addition to a gallery wall reminding you of the bear’s beautiful wisdom.
