This beautiful vibrant bear painting is inspired by the Wild Woman’s courage even when facing adversity. Like the bear, the Wild Woman is a fierce protector of what matters to her. This is when her courage shines brightest.

Here you will see Mamma Bear fierce, yet soft, blasting through the cobwebs of her old self. She is unafraid to make the necessary changes to grow.

The bear is surrounded by explosive colours that are fiery and dynamic in their energy.  Her face carries determination and strength to evolve into who she has always been.

She is the perfect expression of divine masculinity and divine femininity. Mama Bear takes up space and is not afraid to be seen, but the gentleness of her fur shows she is in touch with her soft, sensitive side.

She reminds me of my nan – a fierce protector yet soft and maternal. And so I added some lavender because that is my symbol for my nan.

Lavender represents all things calm and is used a lot to relieve stress. It is a good reminder to rest when facing challenges – that surrender can be just as powerful as the battle.

Beautiful and courageous colour combinations have been created with layers of acrylic paints and inks. I used modelling paste and a stencil to create the spider web textures.
