The owlet is the central focus of the painting. And so she represents new life, new ideas, new adventures, new business, new jobs or even new ways of thinking and being.

In this vibrant owl print , the layers of texture were created with modelling paste and collage papers showing all the learning that takes place to bring new creations to life.

These textures are painted with deep tones of red acrylics and so this relates to the root chakra. As Carl Sagan said – “To create, one must first be grounded.”

The owlet sits in her womb-like space which is cosy, warm and supportive. She is on the brink of leaving the comfort to step into whatever adventures await her.

The sunflower pillow behind her symbolises divine masculine energy – aligned, self confident action – which is essential to breathe new life into whatever you are creating.

I created Autumn leaves from hand-painted collage paper. They symbolise letting go of the unnecessary when new ideas are birthed.

In addition, gold and copper leaf gives the impression of broken eggshell accents this vibrant owl painting.
