This magical owl art is unlike any I’ve painted before. She is part of my Owls of Healing and Love Collection, but she carries her own special story — one of healing, transformation and courage.

Healing Owl was created using collage papers that I made years ago from paintings of healing masks. I painted those masks in the deepest time of my grief – a place where I was searching for light and a way forward. Now, those old layers of pain have become something new: an owl full of wisdom, colour and quiet strength.

Her body is a tapestry of memories – reds, golds, greens and deep blues – stitched together into new life. Her eyes are playful buttons, reminding us that healing doesn’t have to be perfect or polished; it can be creative, tender and full of unexpected beauty.

She’s a piece for anyone who has walked through loss, rebuilt themselves, or wants to honour their own resilience. She speaks of hope, transformation and finding joy again.

She would bring a soulful, conversation-starting presence to any space – perfect on a gallery wall or as a stand-alone reminder of strength and renewal.
