This magical owl art is not my usual style of painting. She is part of my Owls of Healing and Love Collection, but she carries her own special story — one of long lasting legacy.

Legacy – Living in Colour shows mother owl and her two owlets full of colour and walking through life with purpose and so much love. That has been the legacy for me since my mum passed, And after a long period full of the darkness of grief, living in colour has become a beautiful mantra to live by.

The aqua blending in with the orange represent the energy of both my parents. Aqua for dad and orange for my mumThe background is scratchy because life isn’t all smooth and perfect. What is passed on is not always positive or right for you or the time you live in,  I wanted to explore the concept of outgrowing the beliefs we are taught in childhood.

Mother owl is mainly green as she is ‘growth’. Always evolving, enquiring, exploring. The Owlings are held close, smooth and bright in colour with innocent, childlike wonder in their eyes. Pink for compassion. Red for Passion.

The spiral markings were an intuitive addition. Spirals are great reminder to deepen your truths and new beliefs.

She’s definitely a piece for anyone who has walked through loss, rebuilt themselves, or wants to honour their own resilience. She speaks of hope, transformation and finding joy again.

She would bring a soulful, conversation-starting presence to any space – perfect on a gallery wall or as a stand-alone reminder of strength and renewal.
