This magical owl painting is for anyone who loves soulful colour and meaningful connection. She is part of my Owls of Healing and Love Collection – a series that invites you to reflect on your relationships, your memories, and what truly matters.

Lilac and Blackberries is a painting inspired by a cherished memory. My mum won a competition and her short memoir was published in a publication for the Blind Association. It was called Lilac and Blackberries and recalled her nature walks as a child especially the times she shared with her dad.

And so this painting started out with the hues of blackberries and lilac and accented with soft greens as if remembering the rich countryside of childhood experiences.

 Within the abstracted background, there are blackberry shapes. The owl herself is child-like and nods to times of innocence and playfulness.

Stylised lilac flowers flow across the Owl’s body creating a feeling of enchantment and magic.

This magical owl canvas  would bring warmth and meaning to any room — beautiful on a gallery wall or standing alone in a simple or brightly coloured frame.
