Wisdom of Sea Animals – how it can benefit you

Oh the wonderful wisdom of sea animals is as deep as the ocean itself.  And so the benefits are endless!

Nothing soothes the soul better than a walk by the sea.  The wind whips your hair, blowing out all the cobwebs. The rhythmic waves are calming.  The vast openness reminds you of life’s infinite abundance.

I always sleep so well after a day breathing in the sea air.

The ocean has been an inspiration for many writers, artists and poets. And as I grew up by the sea, the indigo, teal and turquoise saltwater will forever run through my veins.

Recently. I’ve felt the sea calling me.  And so, my next collection will be inspired by the wisdom of sea animals.

So let’s take a look at the spiritual wisdom of whales, seahorses and turtles to see how we can benefit from these beautiful creatures in  our daily lives.

Sea Animal Wisdom - The Mighty Whale

Whales have long been a mystery to us.

For me, whales are our wise elders travelling the vast oceans, gathering wisdom, singing their songs and bringing healing to the world.

I love the way they come to the surface to breathe and blow out all that unwanted water.  Such a wonderful symbol of how powerful the breath is.  How we can inhale all we need – love, peace, compassion and exhale whatever is not serving us – fear, despair, anger.

These magnificent animals are a symbol of power, strength and purpose.  But these gentle giants also teach us to be guided by our hearts and intuitions.

Understanding Seahorse Symbolism

Seahorses are so fascinating. Did you know?

Their tiny eyes can see in opposite directions at the same time.

Their Greek name is hippocampus which is also the area of our brain associated with memory.

It’s the male that carries the eggs in a tail pouch until the babies are born.

What can we learn from this?

Seahorses remind us to see things from all perspectives.  They’re keepers of history, allowing us to move forwards and not to be defined by past actions.  In addition, they demonstrate an amazing partnership between the male and female of their species.

As they float languidly through the ocean, they encourage us to navigate through stormy waters by surrendering and letting go of what we cannot control.

Turtle Power

It has been known for turtles to take prayers up to heaven.  In some traditional stories, Earth was created and carried on the back of the turtle.

Turtles have survived the prehistoric era and their time on this beautiful planet far exceeds ours.  Turtle reminds us of our connection to Mother Earth and how we must nurture it and be guided from it.

Harness the turtle power from this creature of longevity.  Learn to slow down and step out of the chaos and overwhelm.

Retreat inwards in times of trouble and through meditation, prayer or quiet contemplation, listen for the answers.

Turtle swims the path of peach and she reminds us to stick to our true path which is one of love and harmony.
